Hi everyone,

On the evening of April 17th — just before Good Friday — the Stapleton family’s world changed forever. A devastating house fire in Oyster Bay destroyed everything they owned: their clothes, furniture, and the cherished memories that made their house a home.

We are incredibly grateful that everyone made it out safely — but sadly, the Stapletons were renting and have no insurance to help them recover their losses. Right now, they are staying with generous friends while they search for a new place to live.

Because they don’t yet have a home of their own, they’re unable to accept physical donations at this time. As thoughtful as these offers have been, unexpected drop-offs have added to their stress — with nowhere to store or manage items right now.

This fundraiser was created in response to the amazing outpouring of love and support from friends, family, and the community. Every donation will go directly toward helping the Stapletons rebuild their lives and replace essential items

Their situation is especially difficult as they navigate this loss while caring for two boys with additional needs. The emotional and practical toll they’re facing is overwhelming, but they are deeply touched by the kindness that continues to surround them.
