On 12 January 2010, a 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti with more than 50 aftershocks following over the next 12 days. The disaster left more than 220,000 people dead and over 300,000 injured and resulted in a humanitarian crisis.
Five years later, Haiti's reconstruction continues. I am honoured to have been asked to be a part of a seven-person team that will be going to Haiti on 20th March 2015 for 10 days.
Since 2008, teams headed by my friend, Mark Tenaglia have worked in conjunction with the Baptist Haiti Mission in fundraising and hands-on building of homes and schools in Haiti.
This year our goal is to build a perimeter fence around a Conference Centre that is still under construction. This facility will provide teaching and training for Haitian teachers and pastors, and will also be used for camps throughout the year.
A crew of local Haitian people will help with the project and they will carry on the work when we leave. This project will also provide much-needed employment for people in the community and will allow them to support their families.
In support of this trip, I have a fundraising goal of $2,000.
Please support me with a donation to this very worthy cause that is a small, yet important step toward helping the people of Haiti. Your donation will support the costs for this important mission (travel, food, transportation, and accommodation) as well as a donation to Baptist Haiti Mission for the materials needed.
Thank you, in advance, for your support!
Very Best Wishes
