Medical and Family Support

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Denise.
I am asking for help for my nephew and niece's family.

Brent and Ayla have two children, Isaiah and Willow.

A few weeks ago, Isaiah had a minor fall. This little fall resulted in a broken back.

Everyone (Including the Medical community) was confused. He is a healthy four-year-old boy. Why would such an innocent event, result in a broken back?

After many grueling tests, they received some unsettling news. Nothing was conclusive, but things didn't look so good. Treatments were being discussed and plans to travel to the Seattle Children's Hospital were in the works.

Everyone waited.
He was in a back brace and was trying to make the best of his Summer... In the meanwhile, Isaiah began complaining of a sore leg. (From riding his bike, he caught his leg one day, again... nothing major.)

Back to Devos, for more tests.

The results from this new MRI show rapid, extensive progression of the disease. He has multiple new tumors on his spine and vertebrae, and the compression is causing height loss.
It has progressed to his pelvis, ribs, sternum, femur and hips. He has multiple pathological fractures in both hips and is wheelchair-bound, as he cannot bear any weight.
There are only four known cases of this in the US.
As of now, they are calling it Diffuse Multicentric Myobromatosis. (This is not an official diagnosis, they are still waiting for more genetic mutation testing.) The most challenging part, is waiting...

So we wait and pray for Oncology.

All paths are leading towards a form of chemotherapy, but they are still unsure of what type. The pending genetic tests will tell them the best approach and rule out a Muskuloskeletal Tumor.

Ayla is an RN; Brent is a Law Enforcement Officer; they do have insurance and have also applied for secondary insurance through the Children's Special Healthcare Act.

As a family of Faith, they appreciate your prayers. They are being told "This is treatable. This is curable."

Nobody knows what tomorrow holds. But for today... they need a little help.

They will be taking time off work and traveling for Isaiah's treatments. The last thing they should worry about is anything financial. They also shouldn't feel guilty accepting the love.
Let's show them some love.

Thank you so much,

Aunt Denise
