Max's Mitzvah Project

Would you please join me to make a difference? I'm raising money for my Bar Mitzvah project to benefit the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad. Through Student Service Learning (SSL), my county's volunteer program, I learned how good it feels to give back to my community. For example, I made and delivered baked goods for families in need during the pandemic and made cards to thank first responders. First responders work on the front lines to keep us safe and healthy. I benefitted from their care when I had allergic reactions to severe food allergies. These experiences made me appreciate when someone does a lot for you and your community. Their dedication is what propels me to create change in my community. For this reason, I chose to support the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad.

 

For almost 80 years, the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad answered the call for help from the Bethesda-Chevy Chase, MD and Upper Northwest Washington, D.C. communities. The Rescue Squad is a valuable part of the community, providing security and peace of mind to residents and businesses. With 150 professionally-trained volunteers and staff, men and women who respond to more than 8800 emergency calls per year, the Rescue Squad has gained national recognition for providing compassionate, life-saving services to the community. The Rescue Squad does not receive a regular appropriated budget from any government. Instead, it raises almost all of its revenue from individual donors, foundations, and businesses, as well as occasional state and federal grants.
