Hey! My name is Dan. Almost a year ago, my dad, Dave Sperlein, was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension, a disease with no cure or known cause. You can read about it here:

In short, it is a condition of the lungs that causes an imbalance of pressures in the chambers of the heart. This causes hypoxemia, or blood oxygen shortages in the body. My dad is considered a group 3 patient, which means he requires a constant oxygen supply of at least 6 liters, and more when he is moving around.

As you can probably guess, my dad needs a lot right now just to survive and remain healthy. Aside from his oxygen supply, he also is taking many medications and many doctor visits.

The great news from this is that he has been added to the organ transplant list! Dave is currently waiting for the right lung to be available to him. As soon as the hospital receives a compatible lung, he goes under the knife to receive a new lung! Thankfully, he will only require 1 lung instead of 2, but the operation and most extensive treatment and rehabilitation, will require the most extensive price. Unfortunately $10,000 is only a small portion of this surgery, but this money will all go towards that operation. We are hopeful that in the next few months he will receive one.
