The Kelcey C. Wright Legacy Scholarship was established to honor the life, legacy, and passions of Kelcey Wright by supporting young men who demonstrate a deep interest in leadership and civic education. This scholarship will be awarded to graduating high school seniors who have been accepted to a college or university and who have shown curiosity about history, government, civics, geography, or the study of society and its impact on our world. Kelcey believed in the power of knowledge, critical thinking, and understanding the world around us. Through this scholarship, we seek to recognize students who embody those same values, students who ask thoughtful questions, engage with the past to better understand the present, and aspire to contribute positively to their communities and society.

Kelcey Wright was a proud graduate of Riverdale High School and later returned to serve his community as a teacher at Riverdale Middle School. Throughout his career, he remained deeply committed to supporting the students and schools of the Riverdale community. In honor of his lifelong connection to these schools, this scholarship will be awarded to a graduating young man from Riverdale High School, ensuring that Kelcey’s legacy continues by investing in the next generation of scholars from the very community that helped shape him.
