Hello friends!

Roman has unfortunately developed tetanus, which is incredibly rare in dogs. It’s found in the soil and gets into the bloodstream through open wounds. He had a nailbed infection last week, and with all of the rain and mud, now we’ve landed at tetanus. I have been doing as much at-home nursing as I possibly can, but with the progression of this disease, we are reaching a point of potentially needing hospitalization. Once his jaw completely locks, he will need tube feedings to get nutrients.

I have a pet insurance policy on him, but it requires the invoice to be paid in full up front first. There also are deductibles and copays that will need met out of pocket. Starting cost is $2100/day of hospitalization.

Roman has been my introduction into the show dog world, and Rhodesian Ridgebacks as a breed, and he’s what made me fall in love with both. He truly has been nothing but an absolute light in my life, and I love him to death. I know with the holidays coming around, and with the economy the way it is, budgets are tight. But if there is absolutely any way you could help front these costs, I would be incredibly grateful.
