Help Steve Get the Care He Deserves

Hi everyone, this is Hannah and Carlye Pichman, Steve's daughters. We are trying to raise money to help take care of future and current medical expenses for Steve, specifically in-home care, medication, and hospital bills.
For two years doctors didn't know what was wrong with our dad, but in March of 2024 he was finally diagnosed with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). MSA is a rare neurodegenerative disorder characterized by progressive damage to the autonomic nervous system and movement control centers of the brain, leading to symptoms such as balance problems, muscle rigidity, and difficulty with coordination and autonomic functions like blood pressure regulation.
As of right now our mom, Mary, is Steve's primary caretaker and could use additional help. It took over a month and a half to access free care for 20 hours a week, and his caretaker quit after just one week. As a family, we are struggling to find the care that he needs. His doctors recommend daily physical therapy, but without someone there to assist him, it is difficult and dangerous for him to complete. His medications are constantly changing and Medicare doesn't cover prescriptions, so this is all coming out of pocket. Additionally, Medicare doesn't cover any private in-home care. Medicare would cover some expenses for a senior living home, but we want to keep dad at home for as long as possible.
Our dad has always put others first. From being a teacher and coach for 20 years, to working tough jobs to keep food on the table for us, to hosting all of our friends throughout our childhood and feeding them too. He would do anything for the people he loves and we hope you would consider giving back to him.
