On January 31 of this year, my 43-year-old sister, Jennifer Swearingen, went to the ER because she thought she pulled a muscle in her back. During that hospital stay, she was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic renal cell carcinoma. She has gone through two rounds of immunotherapy and one round of radiation so far, but the cancer has spread to her liver, lungs, and spine.
Although Jennifer is so incredibly strong, this battle has been absolutely brutal, but she’s not done fighting.
Jennifer is no longer able to teach (a profession she loves dearly), and she has been approved for permanent disability, but her payments won’t begin until 12/24/25. As a single mother of a 13-year-old, 4 months with no income will be very tight. If anyone is able and willing to donate to help her get through the next few months, your help is appreciated more than you know. Even if you’re not able to donate, love, prayers, and positive vibes are just as appreciated!
