Fight Against Cancer

Hi everyone,

A few days after our mom passed away, two weeks ago, my brother John wasn’t feeling well. He went to the ER and they told him he had pneumonia. They did scans of his chest and found a mass in his lung.

We are saddened to share that it’s been confirmed that he does have lung cancer. Although we don’t know what type or what stage, we do know that due to the location of the tumor, they cannot operate to remove. The cancer has also traveled to nearby lymph nodes. We do not know yet if it has spread elsewhere.

Johns hoping to get his care transferred to Barnes and then to the Mayo Clinic in Minneapolis.

If you’ve ever dealt with serious illness, you know the costs associated with treatment. He is already getting bills from his initial visit to the ER. We are hoping to raise funds to help him and his family cover some of these expenses, to help them with the costs of daily living while he is undergoing treatment and to get the money required for him to enter the Mayo Clinic.

We will also be hosting an in person fundraiser, John plans to attend. I will share that information when I know more.

John is the light is so many peoples lives. He knows no stranger. His laughter will fill a room. He is an amazing father, brother, uncle and friend to so many. If you know him, you love him.
