Marissa, my daughter, our daughter, a sister, an aunt, a granddaughter, a friend, and more. That's Marissa on the right of the cover photo of her and her sister. Mentally and physically she's stronger than the strongest of all. Adored by many, loved by most, Marissa is home with us for these final days. The year 2020, no Covid for Marissa. That's good! The bad? Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, but she fought it and won. Hospitals, chemo. and a real bad year, 2020, done, she won!! 2021 going well, than a major car accident, major injuries, surgery to repair a ruptured intestine. We joked her and I, laughed about what could possibly go wrong come 2022, nothing we thought. The year 2022 starts the worst, diagnosed with AML (Leukemia). The most intense chemo therapy. Mylotarq. Blood transfusions. Platelet infusions. Needles over and over again. Opiods and medicines to try and curb the pain, help get better... Just did her best, and she just couldn't win this one. Our last days with Marissa now, and most important, Marissa is home with us and her dog Coco. Final days we wish to spend doing what we can when we can however we can. Someday, a cure for most or all cancers so others no longer have to suffer. Someday.
