¡Hola Todos! We teach Spanish at KIPP DC College Prep in Washington, DC.  As Spanish teachers, we work to instill the cultures, values, and traditions of Spanish-speaking countries within our students.  As you can probably imagine, this is hard to do in Northeast DC!

In order to help our students better understand these concepts, we are planning a trip to Barcelona, Spain for spring break of 2017.  With 175 students invited, only one is currently paid in full.  The trip is costly and it's a big ask for our students and their families to cover the cost of the trip.  This is why we're turning to you, our own friends and families, to support us in this great adventure!

World  travel is so important in order to gain a better perspective of other countries and appreciation of the Spanish language and culture. We would LOVE to be able to give that opportunity to more of our students. It is so important to get our students out of their little DC bubble and experience the world so that they can expand their horizons and prepare themselves for college and beyond. 

This fundraising campaign will cover the full cost of three students' trips to Spain.  The cost includes:
- Flights from DC to Barcelona
- Six nights in a centrally located hotel
- Breakfast and dinner each day
- Entrance fees for museums, parks, tours, etc.
- Cultural classes like cooking or dance
- A round-the-clock tour guide who will teach us everything they know about living in Barcelona
- Insurance for the trip

Our goal is to fund trips for three students who really deserve it and use any additional funds to travel with more students or help defray the costs for students already enrolled on the trip. We will choose students who, despite all the hardships that they are up against, are extremely hardworking, passionate students who love to learn and deserve every opportunity that we had in high school and college. 

We have been so lucky to have travelled with the help of our own families (We're looking at you, Suzanne, Mike and Jo-ann!) and we would be so so so grateful if you could help our students experience this amazing opportunity as well. ANYTHING helps and everything is appreciated!
