Support for the Reynolds’ Family

It is with a heavy heart and great difficulty that we share the story of a life that was cut too short. John Reynolds unfortunately contracted COVID earlier this past September. The virus evolved into
pneumonia, woefully worsened, and resulted in his passing.

In the beginning, John was admitted into St. Elizabeth’s, but had to later be transferred over to Mercy San Juan -located in Sacramento, due to his ongoing dialysis treatments. John’s medical history consisted of him having had to undergo a kidney transplant at the early age of 25. At such a young age, he had thought himself to be perfectly healthy and was taken by great surprise when informed of the fact that his kidneys were failing, and that it was imperative he receive the procedure. John completed the surgery, but in February of 2020 John’s kidneys began to decline again. He ended up back in the hospital for some time, and the situation sadly only exacerbated, causing him to be put on continuous dialysis treatment. John was prescribed long-term medication to serve as aftercare of the procedure, ensuing in a degenerated and weakened immune system. Due to the evolution of the contracted virus and already having been rendered as immunocompromised, John had to receive intensive care in order to combat his situation. He hadn’t been showing the greatest progress, and on September 27th his oxygen levels suddenly depleted and his heart ceased to function along with it.

In his daughter’s own words “My dad was my very best friend. He was the only person I could go to about anything and everything. He always gave the best advice. I love him more than anyone will ever understand. He was such a selfless person. He always put my sisters and I first, and made sure we were okay before his own self. He had the biggest heart, was the strongest fighter -& even though he had a lot of things wrong with him, he tried not to let it discourage him. He was just always there for everyone. He was such an amazing dad. The best dad that anyone could ask for. I’m so lucky I had him as my own”.

This gofundme was created in hopes of raising enough donations to cover any existing expenses this family has been left with, as his daughters are now without both parents and all on their own at this time. His middle child -Reighnie (19), has been assisting her dad in caring for his eldest daughter/her own sister (Rachel, 27) who has special-needs, as well as for his youngest daughter (Regan, 17, a senior in high school), so any amount given is deeply appreciated. No one should have to worry about expenses at a time like this. While nothing we do will ever alleviate their pain, pulling together to help this family in their time of need would truly be a beautiful act of kindness. Again, we thank you for all kindness and support, and ask that if you are unable to donate to please share and help raise awareness for his three daughters during this time.
