Please Help Trevor Walk Again
I'm fundraising for Trevor, who had an unfortunate accident. I’ve known Trevor since he was born, and this situation is heartbreaking. Trevor is a guy who has a constant smile on his face, fun-loving, big-hearted and has a great sense of humour. In June 2020, Trevor had a workplace injury. This accident happened two weeks before their wedding day, which had to be cancelled.
Trevor was so active, full of life, volunteering, always first to lend a helping hand, hiking, loved the outdoors and rode with the Wheelin Warriors of the North. He had many hobbies and interests, including cooking, gardening, music, cycling, and mechanics. Imagine this being all taken away because of an unfortunate accident.
Since the accident, his life has been so different now. Trevor has been confined to a wheelchair and is housebound. He is in constant discomfort and immense pain. He has to rely upon Montana, his fiance and full-time caregiver, for all his basic needs. Montana had taken an unpaid leave of absence from her full-time position to care for Trevor while he waited for many needed surgeries to help him walk again. She will accompany him to all his future medical appointments locally and out of town. While on LOA, Montana lost her full-time job. They are surviving on a very meagre income living off his disability. We are so grateful Montana is so committed to Trevor’s goal to be able to walk again. The donations will help her alleviate the financial stress so she may continue to care for Trevor 24/7 while he waits for his 6th surgery, recovery and rehabilitation. Being a caretaker
24/7 has taken its toll on Montana. They do not have the funds to obtain help to give Montana some respite.
The last two years haven’t been easy for these two young adults struggling to live daily.
This recovery will be a very long and challenging road to regain his strength and mobility. My prayers to them are for strength and to endure this journey to recovery.
Update Oct 25, 2022: Trevor and Montana will be going for their 6th surgery and lengthy rehabilitation in Vancouver.
