Support for Florence’s family

Hello Everyone,

My dear friend and college classmate Florence Buday is 53 years old and was diagnosed with colon cancer with metastasis to the lungs and brain. She underwent multiple surgeries since 2019 followed by chemotherapy and radiation. For those of you who know her, you know that she is an extraordinary human being. She is cheerful, optimistic, forward thinker, no nonsense kind of person, unbelievably strong and a true friend.

Early this year she had another surgery to remove the tumor in her brain but this time she opted not to proceed with further radiation and chemotherapy .which resulted in the rapid decline of her condition. She was hospitalized again late June and the MRI results showed swelling in her brain. Florence decided to proceed with palliative treatment upon discharge from the hospital. Currently, she is in a nursing home under hospice care.

Florence above all is a mother to Jay, a junior college student who took a break from school to be with his mom. Florence’s biggest wish is to see her only son finish college so he can be assured of a comfortable future. She also has two elderly parents who depended on her for their care.

Now that Florence is in the nursing home, all her financial assets will be allocated for her nursing home stay.

We have arranged for this fundraiser to support her in her time of need. We appeal to all her friends, former classmates, coworkers, “kababayans”and anyone with a kind heart who can relate with her situation. Every little thing helps, your sincerity will go a long way.

Please help us also pray for strength, comfort and love for Florence as she goes through this ordeal. We appreciate your kindness and support.

Just today July 12, we were informed that Florence’s Dad passed away in the Philippines. Let’s pray for Tatay Pinok’s eternal rest, may he rest in peace.

Today, I would like to thank all of you who helped and contributed to this plea. Florence fought a good fight, she tried her best to stay strong for her family. While I was on my journey back to the US, my friend, Florence peacefully joined our Creator in heaven. Let us keep her family in our prayers, may they be comforted in God’s loving embrace during this difficult time.

Today, I would like to inform everyone that we will have the 40th day prayer for Florence on 9/13/24.

I am hoping to reach the goal before completing the campaign. This fundraiser will help support Florence’s loved ones.
