HI, I am Deepa. I am fund raising for one of my closest friends Yunisha who is currently going through a hard and rough time in her life. Her Dad who means the whole world to her is diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. I cannot imagine how difficult it must have been for her to go through this.

My Dad was healthy and active right up to when he started having frequent diarrhea with bloody stool and severe abdominal cramps in July. After the initial investigations doctor confirmed diagnosis as Stage 4 Cancer of rectosigmoid. We were completely devastated from the news of our dad having stage 4 colon cancer. As the cancer was metastasized to adjacent tissues, lymph nodes, both sides of liver and a little part of lungs, doctor told dad can't undergo surgery and only palliative chemotherapy can be given. After 2 cycles of chemotherapy, investigations were done and doctor advised us to undergo targeted chemotherapy along with the normal one. After altogether 4 cycles of chemo, investigations were done and doctor surprised us with the news that his health is progressing and surgery is possible. We're really happy to know the prognosis and again doctor told that he must undergo not only one surgery but 2 major surgeries must be done. The cost of chemotherapy and targeted therapy is already high and now it's time to arrange charge for the upcoming chemo therapies and surgeries. The chemotherapy started from July and will mostly likely last till February and in between t chemotherapies two major surgeries will be done.

Here are our challenges:

• We are from Nepal - the hospital is in Delhi, India.

• The total duration of treatment will be around 8 months.

• I've lost my job in Nepal as I am taking care of my dad in India.

• The treatment is expensive - we are struggling financially.

My dad was a government officer and social activist and had helped the society whenever in the need. He is a blessing to our family, and I can't imagine my life without him. As his daughter, I've always admired the sacrifices he's made for us. It's incredibly heartbreaking to witness him lying in a hospital bed, fighting for his life. Now is the most crucial time for me

to make a difference for him.
