Update! BREEZY IS HOME

On 3/18 at 6pm I checked Breezy out of
LeadEr Animal Specialty Hospital! The doctors and I agreed that Breezy would recover better at home. After sitting in a quiet exam room with her for over an hour with no oxygen support I knew it was safe and best for her to come home. A special exception was made for her to come home with her urinary catheter because with her large incision I am not able to express her bladder as I normally do. She settled right in at home and ate her dinner, took her medicine and is resting comfortably. She is a rockstar!
It’s been such a roller coaster, 24 hrs ago I was in fear for her life. The doctors repeatedly warned me of the extreme level of risk every step along the way. This was a major major surgery for poor Breezy. We got lucky Her final bill was less than expected at $9,088. I plan to leave this GoFundMe open for Breezy as we are waiting for a very scary pathology report and I will continue fighting for her life, I know she’s not ready to give up and we have many more adventures and fun times ahead. Many of you probably know us from Instagram and know I have 3 other frenchies. I pay over $550 a month for pet insurance on my other 3. I would never ask for help with their bills as I pay for premium policies with 90% back on anything past their yearly deductible besides maintenance. Breezy came to me with paralysis and a long list of pre existings and was uninsurable. I will continue doing whatever I can to keep her healthy and comfortable. I know a lot of people love Breezy and I’ll just leave this open for anyone who wants to help.

Hello, my name is Melissa and I am asking for help with my 6 yr old Frenchie Breezy. At 3am on 3/17 she went into emergency exploratory surgery for internal bleeding. She had a ruptured mass the size of a tennis ball in her spleen and was bleeding out. The surgeon was able to remove her spleen with the mass and stop the bleeding. She then found a mass in her intestinal tract and removed a section of her intestines. The surgeon did not see any more masses. Her lymph nodes were enlarged as well. The Dr took a sample of her lymph nodes and her liver. There is a high chance that this is one of two types of cancer. The lesser of the evils would be lymphosarcoma, and the worse would be Hemangiosarcoma. Forgive me if I spelt or got those terms wrong.
That’s a bridge we will cross when we can get to it. For now Breezy is in critical condition. Her red blood cell count was very low after surgery and she was not oxygenating. She received a blood transfusion and immediately improved. She still has to be in oxygen and is having a high rate of breathing but she’s not open mouth panting. Breezy has been paralyzed from the waist down for more of her life than she was whole. She is an amazing strong capable healthy inspirational pure soul. If you don’t already know her you can see who she is on her Instagram page @b_squad_frenchies
I know she is not ready to give up on life and I will fight with her all way through this. Breezy is blessed to have an army of people who love her and are praying for her. I’ve had to put $11,000 down so far with the high end of the estimate being $14k. Any help you can send our way would be greatly appreciated as if we can get through this we will have a battle with cancer to deal with next. I will do anything and spend everything I have to bring Breezy back to her family. Thank you for taking the time to read this and sending love and prayers our way!

UPDATE
On 3/17 at 10pm Breezy ate! She ate almost a whole chicken breast for me! I am so happy to get some food into her. It has to be a good sign that she ate. She was still open mouth panting while in her oxygen chamber at 50% oxygen while I was there but then at 11:30pm I got a text from the client liaison with the best update yet. That Breezy is resting comfortably along with these pictures of her resting comfortably.
