K.C. Miller, an honor roll student at The Dalles Middle School in The Dalles, Oregon, has been selected by his STEM teacher to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum in SanFrancisco this summer. He was selected on the basis of academic potential and interest in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math.
The forum will provide K.C. with firsthand experiences in these fields, which are widely considered to be essential to the United States' future success and competitiveness in the global economy. He will work with professors from the Stanford University School of Medicine, as well as NASA professionals, just to name a few.
He will create a personalized success plan to help him prepare for the academic challenges and career opportunities that lie ahead. He will have valuable tools to help him make informed decisions with regard to choosing the appropriate high school options, and, eventually, the right university, college major, and career path.
The forum is coming up quickly (June) so we are working hard to have the funds to be able to send K.C. As you can imagine, the financial commitment is substantial.
K.C. and his family would greatly appreciate any help you are willing to provide for this once in a lifetime opportunity.
