(Hey there. This is Jenna Smith and I've been Lisa's best friend since childhood. It took some convincing but once Lisa said yes, I set up this page to assist her family.)
Karl Werginz is a 32 year old man, husband of Lisa, and father of Amelia. He is a strong Christian, family centered and fun-loving man who is loved dearly by his family, friends, coworkers and all who know him. Karl was initially diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in July of 2013. He was in remission and had returned to work as an air traffic controller. Karl relapsed in June of 2015 and underwent a Bone Marrow Transplant in August 2015. He had been on strict isolation when they discovered at the end of December 2015 that he had relapsed yet again.
Many are looking for ways to help this precious family during this difficult time. Your donation will help offset the financial burden this illness has placed on the Werginz family. Karl has been taking leave without pay and depending on the donation of hours from co-workers in order to receive a paycheck since last summer.
Karl, Lisa, and Amelia really need our support in this way right now as they have exhausted many options since this battle began. They are essentially starting over in the fight for the 3rd time. Their lives have been turned upside down and they've been on an emotional and physical roller coaster since Karl's initial diagnosis in 2013.
Friends and family of the Werginz family know how special they are, what strong faith they have, how much love they share, and how hard they are fighting this fight against cancer. It would mean the world to them to see their friends and family rally around them in this way. We all know they will be back to giving to others once they beat this leukemia again! Third time is the charm!!
