Joey Alvarado's Accident Fund

On Wednesday January 14th my father, Joey Alvarado, was involved in a devastating three car accident. His car was a Chevy Spark and he was hit head on by Jeep moving at a high rate of speed.

By the grace of God, my father survived the accident but you would not think that was true if you saw the damage to his vehicle:

DISCLAIMER: THESE IMAGES ARE DISTURBING. If you've been involved in a traumatic car accident, I would advise skipping the photos.

As a result of this accident my father has sustained multiple fractures. Here is the list so far:

*Both arms are broken.
*Dislocated wrist.
*Broken hip.
*Broken leg.
*Broken knee (which required surgery)
*Broken ankle.

Amazingly there was no head trauma! He has a concussion, but outside of that there were no other major injurys to his head. NONE of his internal organs were damaged either. God truly protected my dad!

He is banged up bad, but our family has rallyed together to make sure he has everything he needs, especially our support and presence at his bedside.

Joey has always lived life by a code of integrity. Anybody who has had the pleasure of meeting him knows this to be true: He truly cares about people. With a pastoral heart he counsels, encourages, and prays for anyone he knows is in need. He has been a pillar of strength through difficult times for many people in his life. Now he needs your help.

The fact of the matter is that bills continue to come even despite life changing events such as the one my father has had to endure. I am raising funds to help my family get through the next few months. Unfortunately, disability will not cover all the expenses and I do not want my father troubling himself over finances while he is trying to recover.  The funds will be used for bills, rent, groceries, and other general unplanned expenses.

Asking for help is difficult. My dad was never one to ask for help either.  This is  especially difficult for me since I have always looked at my dad as my hero. He was indestructible to me and this accident helped me to realize just how fragile even a hero can be.  But in times like this I must go against my pride reach out.

There will be a long road to recovery, but we are confident that we will get through this.

The Alvarado family appreciates and welcomes your prayers and support. We ask that if you cannot support us through this time financially, that you keep us in your earnest prayers and commit to sharing our story.

Thank you.
