Life can change in a moment….
I received a phone call from my good friend and co-worker Ms. Brenda saying, “I can’t meet for coffee today, I think I need to call my doctor.”
Brenda has been a beloved cook for Maple Leaf Childcare Center for many years. She started her career at our Malta South location and then moved to the Malta North location when it opened in 2013. She is a cornerstone of the Center providing food for the children and words of encouragement and a motherly piece of advice to the staff. She has been diagnosed with stage 4 uteran cancer. She was obviously not expecting this since she faithfully attends her annual physical exams and participates in all available preventative screenings.
She has started chemotherapy and will most likely face surgery toward the end of this year. She will be out of work for the foreseeable future and already has mounting medical bills. If you would like to donate to her fund it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
