As many of you already know, our dear friend Karen “Kay” King has been battling health issues for months. Before she was hospitalized most recently, she had received a new job.

While that’s great news, it meant that she no longer had the insurance of her previous employer as her start date has been pushed back due to COVID-19 and her blood clot and possible ovarian cancer battle.

Last month, Karen fought COVID-19, which caused her blood clot issue to worsen. She’s awaiting her third surgery to determine whether the mass on her ovary is cancerous and the potential culprit behind the never-ending blood clot issues.

Meantime, her friends would like to come together to help ease her financial burden with this GoFundMe page. As some of us have had the misfortune of knowing, unexpected illness or injury causes medical expenses to add up quickly—especially without insurance.
