Good news and bad news

The good news is my surgery is scheduled!

The bad news is that my insurance has excluded my claim even though it was deemed medically necessary. I have no option but to pay out of pocket. With this I will be slightly increasing the goal of the gofundme

Most of you will know me, but I'm Kay! After years of waiting, I will be receiving gender-affirming surgery as early as January 30th, 2025.

Transitioning on its own before surgery is expensive, and for the past 3 years, I have been able to cover these costs on my own. I am fundraising to cover the extra cost of surgery and recovery at the University of Iowa (travel, food, care, etc).

If any of my goal is overshot, I will be donating money to the Trans Lifeline, the Chicago-based Transformative Justice Project, or a local LGBTQ+ organization.
