Support for Kayl's assault recovery
Donation protected
On Friday 8/14/15 in Oakland, CA I became the victim of a transphobic hate crime. I had just played a punk/metal festival at the Oakland Metro called "Deadfest," and was followed behind the stage when my assailant saw that I was alone. He berated me and recorded video of himself attacking me, which left me with multiple fractures in my nose and face. I went to the ER and haven't yet received a bill for it (though I'm sure it will be significant since they did a CT scan).
I am currently unemployed, living in Portland, OR. Finding work is already difficult for transfeminine people, and now I have the added difficulty of being visibly injured and having to undergo corrective surgery and the ensuing recovery. All this combined with the trauma of being assaulted has me in a state of distress. Any donation, no matter how small, is a huge help and takes a lot of stress off my shoulders.
