On Saturday, July 19th around 12:30 a.m., my sister Kaylin and our sweet dog Harlee were on their way home when they were involved in a major car accident. By the grace of God, Kaylin was able to leave the hospital the next morning with minor lung damage and a broken rib. Sadly, Harlee wasn’t as fortunate.
Harlee suffered severe internal injuries and multiple broken bones. She was hospitalized for days with liver and colon trauma and had to be discharged still unable to stand or eat on her own because of insurance limitations.
A few days later, we rushed Harlee back to the vet when we realized she still couldn’t walk. X-rays revealed multiple compound fractures in her femur and a scapular neck fracture, both requiring surgery. Harlee recently underwent her first surgery to repair her femur and is now recovering at home, but she still desperately needs her second surgery to repair her scapula so she can walk and live without pain.
Unfortunately, the cost of medical bills from the accident—combined with Kaylin’s own hospital expenses—has left our family unable to afford this second surgery.
We are heartbroken and humbly asking for help. Any amount, big or small, will bring us one step closer to helping Harlee heal.
Thank you for taking the time to read Harlee’s story and for supporting us through this incredibly difficult time. If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this page means the world to us.
* All donations will go toward related medical necessities for Harlee
