Kaylen's Medical Recovery Fund
After leaving work on June 1, 2017, our dear friend and co-worker, Kaylen Harris, was the victim of a late night hit-and-run in downtown Columbia, South Carolina. Kaylen was lawfully walking in the crosswalk at Main and Taylor when the driver of a sedan floored his vehicle and ran her down. He then sped away, leaving her helpless in the street.
Kaylen was immediately transported to Palmetto Richland Hospital and underwent emergency surgery so that she may regain normal function in her limbs. As a professional bartender, these injuries will prevent her from getting back to work in the near future and require years of physical therapy.
Our friend is much more than a victim. She is strong. Smart. Caring.
But how do you reconstruct your life under such circumstances? We need prayers and information from anyone who may have witnessed the hit-and-run as it is still unsolved.
But we also need to be brave enough to ask the uncomfortable question -- will you donate?
Thank you,
Kaylen’s comrades and friends
