Kayleigh McClendon

We are starting this Go Fund Me account for Kayleigh McClendon’s parents (‘Carrow and Tim) to help endure the cost of taking care of their precious girl! Kayleigh is a 1st grader at Crestline and will be 7 years old on May 13. She is the sweetest little girl who never meets a stranger. She loves so well and makes sure everyone is well taken care of! Kayleigh also has an older brother Cole and older sister Grace.

On May 10 ‘Carrow took Kayleigh in for a recheck of a sinus infection and her pediatrician saw some symptoms of concern so he sent her for a MRI of her brain. The next day they were told that Kayleigh had a fairly large tumor on her brain stem and mid brain. The doctor immediately got them a referral for St. Jude’s Hospital in Memphis. They arrived at St. Jude’s that evening. On May 12 they began doing blood work and labs and met with the St Jude doctors who told them that the tumor appears to be aggressive and fast growing. The tumor is intricately woven into the brain stem so they are unable to operate because of the location. They will begin treatment with high dose radiation to shrink the tumor and then the doctors recommend beginning chemo which has not proven to be very successful with this type of tumor. The radiation will likely keep the tumor at bay for 9-12 months before it returns. St Jude’s does have some experimental chemo that has shown promise individually so they plan to try to use them together. Kayleigh will be having another MRI with higher definition images in the morning.

At this point we covet your prayers more than anything! Pray, pray, pray that this precious girl will get a miracle and that the MRI in the morning shows more promise than the previous one. If you can donate anything to help make this journey easier and more bearable for this family please do! They will likely be traveling back and forth from Memphis to Hartselle. This family has a long road ahead of them and work will be missed. The last thing they need is to worry about finances. Please show your love and support for this wonderful family. And like ‘Carrow said “Things do not look good for what man can do but God is bigger than that.” We are believing and trusting in Him and praying most of all that God will be glorified through this journey!
