Hi, my name is Natalie Baker. I am reaching out to family, friends, and the community in search of financial help for my dear friend Kayleigh. Kayleigh recently lost her fiancé unexpectedly and is now faced with the challenge of covering living expenses, once shared by her and her partner, and substantial medical expenses associated with trauma therapy. Have you or anyone you know ever gone through the experience of losing a loved one and then having to figure out how to get through life without them on every level? If so, you know the weight that a tragic event carries emotionally and financially.
On December 6, 2022, Kayleigh came home from my house and found her fiancé unresponsive. Kayleigh immediately called 911, but he had passed on before paramedics arrived. This traumatic night has broken Kayleigh in unexplainable ways, along with the hearts of those who loved her fiancé Ian so much.
Ian possessed a creative mind and had opportunities to share his art with the world during his short life. Kayleigh is a 27-year-old artist, a hard-working young woman in the service industry, and one of the most loving, empathic humans I have ever met. Unfortunately, very few resources are available to those in the arts and service industries that can help support someone after losing a loved one. At just 30 years old, Ian did not have a life insurance policy and was not covered under an employer's policy.
Since Ian has passed, Kayleigh has had to spend her savings on rent, the bills she and Ian once shared, trauma therapy, and other day-to-day expenses. In the first weeks after losing Ian, Kayleigh lost income during the days she had to take off from work to grieve. Kayleigh has recently gone back to work and has been creating incredible art to sell but making ends meet has been and is becoming even more challenging. Without financial assistance, Kayleigh will face the difficult choice of losing the home she shared with Ian or discontinuing the therapy she has relied on to bring her peace through this difficult time.
The emotional support of close family and friends to help her navigate the immense trauma, grief, and heartache she is going through is powerful but not enough. I am reaching out to our community because there is strength in numbers, and I believe in the power that we all possess to help a wounded heart heal.
Kayleigh is full of strength and creativity and has so much life left to live. I know it is so hard for Kayleigh to reach out for help, so I am doing all I can, and I hope you will too. It would be the greatest gift for her to receive the help she deserves as she processes this tragedy while doing all she can to get her feet back on the ground. Your financial support will help with her bills, therapy, living expenses, being able to continue to buy art supplies, and whatever else she needs to get through this difficult time. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and, of course, for your love and support.
