Kaylee’s Montalbo medical expenses
Donation protected
On February 15, my wife called me at work at about 7:00 a.m. in Memphis TN that Kaylee was going to the doctor because she was sick. So they gave her medicine and sent her back home. The next day my wife called me again and said that she was taking her to Texas Children in Katy when she got there my daughter was saying she couldn't see and hardly walked on her own so they took her right to the back. They did a cat scan and saw she had bleeding in her head. Their life flighted her to the main campus in Houston. They did an emergency surgery removing her skull to try to find the bleeding and to drain the blood. We stayed in the ICU for 3 days monitoring her until she woke up. The doctors didn't put her bone back on her head because of the swelling and they had to figure out what was causing the bleeding. They moved us to a different room once she got better. She started physical therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy. The doctor wants to wait until her swelling completely goes down to do the next surgery to finish closing off vessels and put her bone back. She’s scheduled to have her surgery in late May. She got cleared to go home but we still have a lot of doctor’s appointments to attend and we still have a long road ahead of us.
As you can imagine, this has taken a mental, physical and emotional toll on my family. To continue to fight, we kindly asked for any donations to help with the medical bills as we continue our journey to recovery.
