Kaylee's Medical Fund

My name is Brooke Herro and this little princess, Kaylee Leen and her family hold a special place in my heart. I am opening this Go Fund Me page to help this precious gift from god and her family in a critical time of need. 
    Kaylee Leen is a beautiful baby girl fighting what most of us can not even fathom.  Kaylee was born on October 8, 2018 to Casandra and Rick Leen and is the youngest of 4 beautiful children.
    Shortly after birth Kaylee was diagnosed with a Cleft Palate, this diagnosis came with the realization that this was going to be a journey that would have its struggles. This meant that she would need to have surgery to correct her Cleft Palate. Kaylee also faced the struggle of not being able to gain weight, this would be essential for her to be able to have the surgery. This came with frequent doctor visits, weekly home visits for weight checks and hospitalizations to monitor her weight gain. At 3 months old little Kaylee is 9 pounds. 
   Kaylee was in at the outpaitent center at St.Marys this past Wednesday for an Eco and ultrasound of her heart, this is when Casandra and Rick received news that no parent ever wants to hear, Kaylee has VSD. this means she was born with a hole in her heart and one of her valves do not close all the way, as well as excess fluid built up around her lungs, which means she will need to undergo open heart surgery. This will be occurring within the next 4 weeks. Right now it is scheduled to happen in 3 weeks with the potential of being sooner.
With that being said she has been really sick lately, and needing to be monitored closely at home due to doctors being concerned about illnesses. Even the common cold for Kaylee right now can be fatal and put her into cardiac arrest, due to Kaylee's heart needing to work extra hard to fight off these illnesses. This past Friday Kaylee took a turn for the worst and ended up being admitted to the UW Children's Hospital in their Pulmonary ICU  where she went into beginning stages of heart failure, and needing to be started on heart medications.
As you can imagine Kaylee's parents are left in sadness and grief that their beautiful baby girl is going through so much in the short amount of time she has been on this planet. With this being said we are hopeful and optimistic that the doctors and specialists have a plan for Kaylee. There is a greater power out there and we hope and pray that little miss Kaylee with come out victorious when this is all over.

With all of this occurring and Kaylee needing around the clock care this means that Casandra cannot work and make an income at this time. The medical bills to help Kaylee are piling up and this family needs us right now. This GoFund Me page is set up to pay for Kaylee's medical bills, housing costs and to keep this wonderful family afloat in such a difficult time with miscellaneous expenses.
