Help Kaylee Kick Cancer’s Butt!

Doação protegida
Hi my name is Marisa Broussard and I have been a family friend of Kaylee Landry and her family for quite some time now. With Kaylee and her parents permission I have created a GoFundMe account to help lighten the burden of the upcoming medical expenses with traveling, lodging and time off work. As you probably already know, Kaylee has started a second round of chemotherapy and needs a stem cell transplant in the near future for her Hodgkinson Lymphoma treatment.

Here is Kaylee’s Story:
Kaylee Lynn Landry was a 21 year old attending college as a full time student at Blinn College in Bryan, Texas. She was working a full time job at a bank and was loving it. After several months of different symptoms and testing it was finally confirmed that she had Hodgkins Lymphoma. This was in March 2023.
Before she could begin treatment for this she had to go through the process of egg preservation. This process was long and physically and emotionally draining. There was lots of at home injections, ultrasounds, lab draws and finally the egg retrieval.
In the middle of this process her father, Brian Landry, had a heart attack and had to have a 6 day hospital stay. Her father is self employed. This was a very busy time of year for him and he had to turn down many catering’s.
The week after her egg retrieval she began chemo treatment for her cancer. She was scheduled to have 6 cycles (12 treatments total). At the end of these treatments she was told that her cancer was reacting well to the treatments. After a few set backs and 2 biopsies, multiple PET scans it was confirmed that Kaylee still had cancer in her chest but it was still Hodgkins Lymphoma.
Now she is to have an additional 4 cycles of more aggressive chemo, so 16 sessions in total. The first chemo treatment was an overnight stay at the hospital at the end of December. This was done to get a quick start on her treatment.
After the 4 cycles of chemo, Kaylee will have to have a stem cell transplant to insure that she is completely healed. With that will come a 3-4 week hospital stay since her immune system will be non-existent.
Kaylee had to move back home after being diagnosed and is living with her parents and recently started back to school online. She is also working but misses a lot of work due to appointments and treatments.
