Kaylee Desperately Needs Us In Her M.S. Battle

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Anita Huggins and I am fundraising on behalf of a close family friend for many years, Kaylee DaCosta. I realize that this is a very difficult time of year for many due to additional holiday expenses, so I hesitate to make this request, but Kaylee is in dire need of our assistance.

Kaylee suffers from severe Multiple Sclerosis (Relapsing-remitting). She was diagnosed at the young age of 24 and the disease has progressively worsened, ravaging her body. Despite various medications over the years, her health has rapidly deteriorated. It has affected her physical condition to the point where she is strictly bedridden and requires assistance for everything. Being a single mother, this has had a severe financial impact on her. Not only has this disease impacted her physically, it has also isolated her, as she is bedridden and housebound, with limited family. She is a single parent and this disease has impacted every facet of her life - including impacting paying her monthly expenses and necessities for living with this condition.

There is a new electric stimulation device that is available, but not covered by medical insurance, that has proven in many cases to allow people suffering from severe M.S. to regain some limited mobility, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life. The cost of the device is $15,000 and any contributions would greatly assist in giving Kaylee one last chance at regaining some normalcy in her life, as well as her son's. Information regarding the device, studies, etc. is linked below.

Over the next three months we are hoping to raise enough funds to help Kaylee. If you are unable to give now, during the holiday season, please consider Kaylee as you start the new year. Kaylee would love to be able to give a standing ovation at her son’s graduation as he walks across the stage.

About the device: Neuro-Bio-Electric Stimulator (NEUBIE) is a stimulation device that aids in health and recovery. It is FDA-cleared for neuro-muscular re-education, maintaining or increasing range of motion, reducing spasms, increasing blood flow, preventing atrophy, relieving pain and more. The NEUBIE takes a different approach to traditional electric stimulation by using direct current (DC) instead of alternating current. The unique pulsed DC waveform positively affects the neurological control of movement.
