My sister Kayla, 31 years old, suffered a massive stroke on July 13th, 2024 and was found unresponsive in her home in Marshfield, MO. She was transported to a local small hospital, and then further transported to the nearest hospital with the appropriate level stroke center. Her brain had swelled and created a mid-line shift, her pupil had blown, she had been posturing, and is unable to communicate. She was placed on a vent, and by July 14 only had reflexive movements. By July 15 all of these reflexes had dissipated. On Wednesday, July 17th, we will be taking her off the ventilator and we will say our last goodbyes. Kayla leaves behind a 13 year old daughter, 5 other siblings, a mother and father, and of course many friends who have been helping us with so much due to us most of us not being from Missouri.
All of this is happening rather quickly and unexpectedly, we are asking for donations for the two separate memorials that are to occur, one for her friends and family in Missouri and another for her friends and family in Ohio.
