Kaylas devastating medical diagnosis.
Donation protected
After a weeks-long hospital stay Kayla was given devastating news today that her body is shutting down. Doctors have been very blunt to let her know that she is on the verge of death if they cannot get her thyroid under control. Her body is nearly in a coma state and there is a very high chance of cardiac arrest. Kayla suffers from a condition known as rhabdomyolysis where the body is breaking down her muscle tissue and releasing damaging proteins into her body. She is also on the verge of suffering from being in a Myxedema coma & is experiencing a lot of the symptoms leading up to this already from the severe hypothyroidism that has led to decreased mental status, hypothermia, and other symptoms related to slowing of function in multiple organs. Kayla is undergoing extensive lab work to try to get the right medications to slow these processes down so that she can have a fighting chance. If they cannot get them under control she will be admitted to a full-time cardiac unit to have IV thyroid medications and monitor her heart in the process. Her extremities are already suffering greatly from hypothermia. Kayla is raising two young children and is supporting her family fully with her photography business. As a business owner, she does not have the ability to file for medical leave. Her doctors have instructed that it is of urgent importance for her to rest as much as possible while they are trying to get her levels fixed but knowing that financial obligations will pile up will only bring stress and burden upon her during this most uncertain time. We ask that anyone who is able to make any type of contribution towards this cause please do so. Kayla needs to rest as much as she can so that she can beat this and be here for her children. If you cannot donate please share this so that we may reach more people that may be able to help. Kayla is so young at the age of 35... she has so much life to live and her children deserve to have their mommy here with them.
