Ni-hao! My name is Kayla Richards.
I have always had a passion for children of all ages. In highschool I had the oppurturnity to work in the ISC (Individual Skills Center) classroom with students that had different disabilities and needs. The time spent in the class changed my heart; my heart begin to grow more and more for students with special needs. Since then, my passion for special needs kids has only grown. After graduating highschool, I was able to get a job through the Beaverton School Distric working with special needs and everyday is an adventure, and I wake up excited for each new day.
My love and passion for China was something that God has placed on my heart and as time has gone on the love and passion has been ever-increasing. Going to Loaves and Fishes is where God has called me to go, and that is something I have felt for a while, but now is the time and He has opened the doors up for me to go! August 2-22, 2016 is when my time will be spent in this place I've dreamed about being.
Mike and Deena Van't Hul are the dirctors and founders of Loaves & Fishes, a non- profit foster home, especially established for special needs child. The home is located in Fuzhou, China in a small village. During my time there I will be working on various floors of the home that are seperated by age and the severity of the disabilities of those being cared for by being a part of their day and daily schedule in whichever needs they have and by being present to pour out love and the heart of the Father towards them. I have this love in my heart for this specific place and these specific children across the world and I am beyond excited to go and so honored to have the oppurtunity to do it! Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and please prayerfully consider supporting me however you can (whether it be finincially or in prayer). In order to get my ticket as soon as possible to go, I will need $1,500 for a roundtrip ticket. Along with that, I will need finances for transportation, breakfast each day, and my visa to travel. With a need of $2,000, if 20 people each give $100, then the need is met! That also looks like 40 people giving $50. I know that He will supply every need because where He guides, He provides!
