Hello everyone, my name is Kayla Swanson. Growing up, I quickly found a passion for volleyball. In high school, I put in countless hours in the gym working on bettering my skills. This hard work quickly paid off; I was breaking records at my high school, and my team was winning in high competition play. Early on, I had a dream to play volleyball in college. My junior year of high school, I got offered to play at Bay De Noc Community College. I accepted because this had been a dream of mine. So, in the 24-25 school year, I played college volleyball while also majoring in nursing with the end goal of becoming an RN. That year was the hardest year ever, trying to balance school and a college-level sport. Heartbroken at the end of the season, I came to realize that I was not going to be able to play the following school year due to putting my education first. I was devastated that this dream I had worked so hard for had to quickly come to an end. Fast forward almost a year, I was given an amazing opportunity to play over in Italy, summer of 2026, to represent Team USA! I was overjoyed by this offer because I was so excited to have another chance to play competitive volleyball. As you can imagine, this trip is a little pricey and that’s why I am asking for your help to allow me to continue my dream of playing competitive volleyball over in Italy.
