Kayla Lavallee's Thyroid Cancer Treatments

Hello my name is Cody Lavallee and I am please asking for your generosity to help raise funds for my sister Kayla Lavallee. Kayla was a healthy 23 year old who had just graduated college from Colby Sawyer College in NH and moved down to South Carolina to be closer to family and help care for our elderly grandparents. Upon settling in and getting a great job as an Early Childhood Interventionist she had noticed a bump forming at the base of her neck progressively getting larger.

Upon numerous doctors visits and a deemed necessary surgery to remove the tumor forming, we had discovered that Kayla has Follicular Thyroid Cancer. A second surgery later and Kayla no longer has her Thyroid and will be undergoing treatments in order to ensure the cancer has not spread and get her hormones under control. Although she has received this scary diagnosis she remains extremely optimistic and remains herself. Kayla brightens the room with her contagious smile and niceness to others. While she remains optimistic she however is unable to work at this time and hospital bills are accumulating as well as the suggested treatments will add up. This will be road to recovery, and we are very optimistic that once she receives her treatments and gets her PET Scan that we could be in the clear, but until then we are left in the unknown.

All of the uncertainty is taking a major toll on our family financially and mentally as we have elderly and sick grandparents as well as a 100% physically disabled father who is a U.S. Army Veteran unable to work due to his disability. My mother and I have taken on second jobs/ overtime in order to help out. We just want Kayla to be able to focus on her recovery and not feel that she is a burden in any way to our family until she can get back onto her feet.
