Kayla Gabriel’s Fight Against Cancer

Anyone who knows Kayla Gabriel, knows that she is the person who will drop anything to support a friend. She is always the team mom, always the one to volunteer and always the one to cheer everyone else on. Now it is our turn to show up and support her.

 

For months Kayla has been in pain and doctor after doctor showed little interest in finding the source of the problem. On November 8th, 2023 Michael and Kayla found out she had a large mass on her kidney. It turned out to be Renal Cell Carcinoma and the best course of treatment was to remove the entire kidney. Within a couple days she was in the operating room and all the exhaustion, prayers and tears were pending on the surgeon, as we all held our breath until we knew she was okay.

 

Of course, in true Kayla fashion, she started recovering right away. Anything to make her stronger she would try. She has been fighting since the moment they took that tumor out and she has no plans on stopping anytime soon. The amount of testing done prior to them finally finding the tumor, coupled with the many days and nights spent in the hospital receiving care has financially burdened this family immensely.
