Hello!
We are blessed to be having our first child in August 2016! Everything is healthy so far and we have learned so much from this experience already. We are almost half-way there and have decided we want a natural home birth.
We both currently reside in the beautiful small town of Fairfield, Iowa. We are so happy to be living amongst this amazing community of people, and even more grateful that there is a midwife right here in Fairfield.
A home birth is an empowering process that allows us to make our own decisions and to proceed with the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum in the most comfortable and enjoyable way for us. This natural process not only cares for the physical health of the mother and baby, but the emotional, spiritual, and mental health of mother, father, and baby.
A home birth is supervised by a midwife throughout the pregnancy through prenantal check-ups. The midwife then assists with the entire labor and stays with the family for a few hours after the baby is born. The midwife also helps with postpartum care for 6 weeks after. Health insurance does not help with this type of care.
The total cost of the midwife is $3200.
