KAYD HINTZ LAST WISHES AND BUCKET LIST
Donation protected
Kayd Hintz and his family received recent news that has revealed that Kayd's days are numbered and despite his efforts daily on fighting this battle he has been given for the past 3 YEARS. Kayd is a fun loving 12-year-old boy, golf enthusiast, amazing son, wonderful big brother to his little sister, Skylar and a CANCER WARRIOR. He has fought this battle with courage and has been fierce every step of the way! The amazing things that can be said about this young man can go on forever…. In his short time, Kayd has touched so many lives and always leaves a special imprint on your heart.
Please help donate and share sweet K’s story.
Kayd's story...on Sunday 1/17/2021 life changed for Kayd and the HINTZ family. Kayd's mom and dad (Justin and Kelly) took Kayd to the ER, for what was thought to be an ongoing migraine only to be given terrible news. The medical team at Phoenix Children’s Hospital diagnosed Kayd with grade 2 Medulloblastoma brain cancer. Further news revealed the cancer is a form of a rare genetic disorder, Li-Fraumeni a genetic mutation on the Tp53 gene. Kayd’s first surgery was on 1/20/2021. Since that day Kayd has had to endure and battle (8) EIGHT surgeries! Most recent within the past two weeks. Kayd has endured (3) THREE years of ongoing back-to-back chemotherapy treatments and a total of (31) THIRTY-ONE days of extensive radiation. Current MRI’s revealed the cancer has returned despite his ongoing fight daily. It has spread to additional regions and hemispheres of the brain including his brain's ventricle, and several areas appear on his spine and femurs.
On March 27th 2024 Kayd underwent surgery in an attempt to remove as much of the cancer as possible in order to give Kayd & his family as much time as possible. Numbering his days to come. Kayd will continue to get Palliative radiation starting Wednesday 4/3/2024. This new plan of care includes Kayd having a port that is currently inserted on top of his head that will give direct chemotherapy into his brain region through the port. This plan and effort is to give Kayd as much time as possible here with us!
His parents, Kelly and Justin just this past weekend had to share this heart wrenching, nightmare of reality with their son. Sharing this news with Kayd. With his diagnosis there is no cure and is extremely aggressive.
Despite this news Kayd has chosen to start discussing his last wishes and has started a “BUCKET LIST”. Kayd deserves to be able to spend his last days doing all the things he hopes to do or try to experience before he leaves us and this world. Our prayer is to help provide Kayd and the HINTZ family the ability financially to make Kayd’s list come true! We want Kelly and Justin to have no other worries or burdens than what they have been given. We want sweet Skylar, Kayd’s younger sister to experience as much as possible with her BIG brother and have memories to hold on to. We want them to be able to give sweet K time he has asked for …. We want to be able to support them in spending every day and minute together that they have connecting, loving K and making memories to hold on to. Most importantly, to HONOR Kayd and his last wishes. We want Kelly and Justin to be able to provide and devote this precious time to K and him only. We want K to feel comfort and deserves as much peace as possible. His days are numbered. TIME with his parents and sister is what HE NEEDS and what they ALL deserve without added financial worries or burden of what reality is for them.
The Hintz family has had a huge financial burden placed on them the past 3 YEARS and are struggling with the medical bills currently. Having funds for things needed like gas, food has been depleted. The continued stress and worry of trying to keep a full time job while also providing ongoing cancer treatments for the past (3) THREE years. While also still needing to provide care for Kayd’s younger sister and give her time while enduring this battle with Kayd. This is something that is unimaginable and is hard to even comprehend.
Kelly & Justin have decided to spend this time with K. The most important thing for Kayd and also his wish is to spend everyday, every second that they have together, with eachother. Loving him and soaking up every bit of time that he is given and be able to provide him palliative care and be by his side everyday to provide the best possible comfort for him on the rest of this journey. This means K's parents will have to take leave from their jobs and have depleted any benefits they have had financially from employers as this has been a 3 year battle. There will be little income coming in for bills, expenses, and they currently have no extra financial income in order to give Kayd the experiences and wishes this BRAVE COURAGEOUS young man DESERVES.
“It takes a Village” TEAM KAYD, we need help! How can you help?...
D and I have started this GoFundMe account to ask our family, friends, and strangers to help the Hintz Family (Justin, Kelly, Kayd, Skylar) to help lessen the burden and financial stress they have and are currently enduring. In hopes in allowing Kayd's mom, dad, sister, to focus their energy & time strictly on Kayd. Allowing his last wishes to be possible with the ability to be with him and love him as long and as much as possible that life offers him. Every minute, every day should be with Kayd. Nothing else matters other than giving him the unconditional time, attention, and love that K needs and the peace that this will bring him with this time given. We are boldly asking and praying that you will be a part of blessing them by giving financially & donating any amount or times possible in hopes to bless and give K his wishes and allow them to have this time with no other burdens.
The money donated on this account will go to Kayd’s family directly to provide the experiences Kayd has communicated that he wants to accomplish in this short amount of time to accomplish his bucket list. This includes trips like seeing & experiencing places like Disneyland, Lego land as examples that are listed. Camping, fishing, and staying at The Great Wolf Lodge where he wants to spend time in the water park are other examples. His favorite and most important to his mom is the hope of going to the ocean as many times as
possible. It’s his favorite place on earth.
The most important thing is time, and time spent making memories with those he needs and loves. Please help us make that happen for Kayd! Thank you in advance for your love and support. Please keep Kayd and his family in your prayers. Our God we serve is a mighty God so any and all prayers are appreciated daily. Please keep them coming, AMEN!
Help by sharing this page. We appreciate your kindness, and it does not go unnoticed. God Bless you.
