Kayden's Heart Surgery Travel and Medical Funds

Hi, My name is Ruth Sword and I'm fundraising for the son of one of my dearest college friends. Amber and I worked together for the Liberty University Athletic Department for over two years! Amber and her husband Andrew live in Lynchburg, Virginia with their two beautiful children . Their son Kayden (12) has been in and out of the hospital with heart issues since he was born.  Kayden is scheduled to have open heart surgery on June 9th at the Mayo Clinic in Minneapolis. , MN. Everyone is praying that God completely heals Kayden, but the reality is that he will need this surgery to save his life. When Kayden has the surgery, he will be in intensive care for at least a week. The doctors will then decide how long he has to stay in a regular hospital room or at a hotel in the city before traveling back to Virginia. The Medford family needs to fly to and from Minnesota, because the doctors have said that they would have to stop every hour for Kayden to walk in order to prevent blood clots. A car trip would be too long and hard on his fragile body. The Medford family will be using the money from this GoFundMe to pay for plane tickets, hotel rooms, a rental car, medical bills, and any other miscellaneous items while at the Mayo Clinic. The Clinic does not offer any housing for those staying in the area for patients. Only one parent is allowed in the hospital at a time to be with Kayden. The family is also expecting extra expenses outside of what their medical insurance will pay for the surgery and medical bills. The trip and expenses will be beyond what the Medford family is able to afford. The family is asking that you pray about what God might have you to do in order to help them out financially.
