We gave Kayden another phone after we found out in a recent video Kayden was a victim of bullying due to this very fundraiser, Kayden's phone was taken and the school was notified of the incident.
Hey guys, EcoSwap here. I just wanted to take a little time to figure out how I can support Kayden in a positive way using the power of social media (with permission from his mom, of course).
In honor of the new school year starting August 14th, I thought why not try to give Kayden a fresh start as he heads into 9th grade at a new school?
If you don’t already know, Kayden is a sweet kid I met while just running business as usual. One day, I got a random call on Instagram from an unknown account. I let it ring out (rude, I know) and checked the message afterward. He was reaching out to sell me his used iPhone XR the same one you saw in the video.
I gave him my usual offer of $75–$80 for that model, just enough to keep my usual profit margins. But something about this felt different… and it was. What came next broke my heart.
He countered with a $200 offer.. and at first, I’ll admit I thought, “This kid’s crazy.” But then I kept reading. He explained that his mom was $200 short on rent, and they were on the verge of getting evicted after just recently replacing their gas stove since the old one had a gas leak.. On top of that, his mom has been dealing with health problems and had recently spent her money on extra oxygen tanks. Yes, she’s currently relying on an oxygen machine to breathe. That alone is a lot for any family but Kayden is just 14, and he’s stepping up to help however he can. What a commendable thing, right?
He told me he watches all of my videos and wants to grow up and resell phones too. (That hit me in the feels.. someone looking up to me?) Then according to Kayden, earlier this summer he received a $600 award for graduating the 8th grade… and he selflessly gave it all to his mom to help with bills. That’s just who Kayden is, putting others first.
That’s when I knew we had to do something. I met up with Kayden in person, assuming you saw the video.. and I paid him the $200 he asked for. I also made sure he still had a way to stay in touch using his iPad Mini and his mom’s phone. First, I released a 3-minute version of the meetup. Then I cut it down to 1-minute to help it reach more people for attention span purposes.
Now, after seeing so many of your comments asking for a GoFundMe, I decided to go for it although I was nervous about setting it up or having any sort of expectations.
But I really believe the internet can have our back here. I think we can actually make a huge impact in someone’s life.
If you’re able to give even just $5 it would mean the world to both me and Kayden.
If everyone who reads this pitched in just a few bucks, we could hit our goal within hours. I know not everyone has money to spare especially given this economy. That’s totally okay. Even just sharing this on your Instagram, TikTok, or Snapchat story would also help out a ton. Just 30 seconds of your time could bring this story to someone who can help.
OUR GOAL:
We want to help Kayden have the best school year ever. That means making sure he’s prepared with all the essentials a 9th grader in 2025 needs. I promised him a new phone which is something I can handle personally, since it’s my specialty! Honestly, I’d love your help figuring out what else we can do to make his life a little easier.
Whether it's clothes, school supplies, or tech, I want to make sure Kayden starts this new chapter feeling confident, connected to his family, and free from financial stress. He deserves that peace of mind.
So, who am I?
I’m just a video creator just trying to make ends meet through my reselling business and content creation. I try to support good causes when I can, and give back to the people my loyal supporters like Kayden. I'm not rich by any means.. But I do have a dream to provide 100,000 meals to people in need before June '26.. I’ve already made a few videos (unlisted but I’ll be re-listing them soon) showing myself handing out 100s of handmade meals to people living on the streets of downtown LA, just because I just wanted to pay it forward to the community. My message is that making an impact is easier then you think..
Thanks for reading all the way through. I know Kayden’s going to be beyond grateful. Let’s make something amazing happen for him.

9/7/25 UPDATE:
We gave Kayden another phone after we found out in a recent video Kayden was a victim of bullying due to this very fundraiser, Kayden's phone was taken and the school was notified of the incident.
Please support this fundraiser extra knowing there's people who don't want Kayden to succeed with his fundraiser and are willing to bully him for his belongings.. Most likely because they might lack love and support in their own lives and express that through jealousy & hatred and we can all agree that's extremely unfair to Kayden..
So far we've given Kayden the following:
iPhone 13 Pro Unlocked 256GB
+ Otterbox case, screen protector, & camera protector..
iPhone 12 Pro Unlocked 128GB
+ Otterbox case, & screen protector..
$20 DOORDASH GIFT CARD
For school field trip lunch..
I'm constantly thinking of other ways we can support Kayden through this school year.. he's constantly mentioned he has trouble keeping his phone connected due to bill issues. So maybe we buy him an annual unlimited 5G phone plan to wrap things up? You guys let me know!
