Kayden's Fight Against Coats Disease
Donation protected
About 3 weeks ago, I found out that one of my work babies at daycare had a major problem with his eye. No one knew what it was until 2 weeks later when his parents got the diagnosis. 2-year-old Kayden has Coats Disease and is fully blind in one of his eyes. I wanted to start this to help his parents, Courtney and Kevin, through the tough times that lay ahead of them and their family, and I asked the parents to share a bit of their story.
"We are swallowing our pride on this one and accepting the fact that we need help. Kayden’s got a lot of appointments, specialists, procedures, Philadelphia Trips, and potentially prosthetics in his future. Combined with Kevin’s stage 3/4 Kidney Disease and maintenance, the medical bills are hitting us hard.
We are so so grateful for the support and prayers we have received from our families, friends, loved ones and even some total strangers - Kayden is the most important part of our lives and we will never stop making sure he has all of the treatment that he could ever need. As of right now he is receiving cryotherapy treatments to try to stop the abnormal blood vessels to a point where he can keep his eyeball. The decision can be made by the doctors at each cryotherapy appointment that the eye needs to be fully removed. IF that happens Kayden would need to be fitted for a prosthetic eye several times as he grows."
Any donations are hugely appreciated. It is a long road ahead for these wonderful people. If you can't donate, please share this wherever you can!
