My name is Kaydence Adams, I am a 7th grader at Monticello Middle School. My history teacher, Mr. Hines, nominated me to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JrNYLC) in Washington D.C. this summer. This program is for students who possess strong leadership potential and strive for academic excellence. Mr. Hines said, “...Kaydence is an incredible student...to be a full-time distance learner and stand out as a leader is nothing short of incredible.”
I want to go to JrNYLC so I can grow my leadership skills. Past students that have attended said that they learned about setting goals, teamwork, communication, character, and respect. I want to improve these skills in myself and share them with my peers and community. I am also looking forward to visiting Washington, D.C. We’ll see monuments, memorials, Capitol Hill, and the Maryland Science Center. I love history, and I hope to become a history teacher like Mr. Hines and my great-grandpa.
I am honored to be nominated for this opportunity. As the oldest child in a family of seven, my goal is to minimize any financial burden on my family and raise the $5,000 needed for this trip. I chose to have my mom join me in the Family Program. I am excited because my mom will participate in some courses, but best of all she will be able to go with me when I tour Washington DC. I will be babysitting, doing yard work, cleaning, selling plants, and doing any other chores I can think of to help pay for this. Please email me if you need help with anything! I am also asking for donations—you can donate through this Go Fund Me page, Venmo, or Facebook messenger.
Can you help me by contributing?
Thank you for helping me with this amazing opportunity!
