THE STORY:
Welcome!
My name is Porkpa Tokpa "P.T." and I am a veteran of the United States Marine Corps that is dedicated to helping the children of Liberia, West Africa. I am also the founder of a community development group called the Kayatas Kids Fund Organization, based in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania (USA).
We are in great need of your help! We are currently building a children's clinic in a rural village, in Liberia, West Africa and have successfully completed 80% of the clinic's construction. We now need your help in the form of donations to raise $50,000 by December 31st, 2016 to finish the building project and start treating thousands of children and their families!
Me and my friends; The children of Kayata Village
Here at the Kayatas Kids Fund organization, our mission is to improve the health and educational conditions of children in Liberia, by building and sustaining healthcare facilities and schools thoughout the country. Over the last five years I have traveled back and forth to Liberia helping to improve the lives of children, starting with the small village that my parents were born and raised in called Kayata, located in Bong County (Liberia).
We received so many bright smiles from the children getting out of school at Kayata Elementary especially when they found out we were giving out candy!

During my travels within the region, I discovered that one of the major issues children faced was access to basic medical care. There are absolutely no clinics or hospitals throughout this rural area of Liberia. The nearest facility, Phoebe Hospital, is more than an a 3 hour walk away through very rough and rugged terrain. Further more, 99% of the residents in Kayata, and the surrounding villages, do not have access to vehicles or transportation and cannot readily get to any medical facilities in time to save lives.
The village of Kayata.

When medical attention is needed in this area, volunteers must carry sick patients on makeshift stretchers and walk more than 3 hours through tough terrain to get to the nearest hospital. There have been many documented cases of seriously ill children and pregnant women that have died during that 3 hour walk. There have also been many others that have died from preventable and treatable illnesses. Even more have died from simple infections or fevers, that could have easily been treated in a clinic or hospital.
These are some of the make shift bridges that sick villagers have to cross during the night to the nearest hospital. It is a very dangerous journey.

The journey is very rough and rugged to and from Kayata Village, even by car.

The Kayatas Kids Fund organization decided to begin its first project of constructing a small clinic that would provide health and wellness services to the village of Kayata and other surrounding villages. This clinic would primarily focus on the health and wellness needs of children, but also provide healthcare and treatment for their families. Once completed, Kayatas Clinic would positively affect 28 villages throughout the area and 5 major towns further away. The lives of more than 5,000 people will be impacted by this clinic, most of whom are children!
The strong, smart and beautiful children of Kayata...
Though things are tough on them most days, they still find reasons to smile.

With your help, their futures may be even brighter!
Over the last few years, through the efforts of many wonderful individuals, Kayatas Kids Fund organization has been able to raise enough money to begin the clinic project, and we have now successfully completed construction of 80% of the building. We now need your help with donations to raise $50,000 by December 31st to finish our clinic! With your help we can complete this project and possibly start treating hundreds of children and their families by the middle of next year!
This is the humble beginning our clinic many years ago. All bricks were individually molded by volunteers from the village of Kayata.

The clinic's septic tank still needs to be replaced.

The clinic at Kayata present day. We are 80% complete! We have come so far...

Kayatas Kids Clinic will be the only indoor bathroom for more than 20 miles.

The septic tank needs to be rebuilt and replace.

We are almost there and with your help we can finish the clinic and make a immediate impact in this village.

On behalf of all children and families of Kayata Village and the surrounding areas; I ask you to please donate to the Kayatas Kids Clinic Fund Project as soon as possible. You can directly make a positive impact in the lives of these phenomenal children and their families to give them a chance at a bigger, better, brighter future!
Yes, YOU can make a difference today! Please donate today.
Many thanks to you, from the Kayatas Kids Fund Organization!
Best regards,
