Kaya to the Carifta Games & Barbados Nationals
Kaya, our now international triathlete, is up to compete in 2 more regional events - Barbados and Bermuda - to close out a year of winning performances.
You've lived with us through her steady growth from a reluctant 8-year-old mountain biker to the top step of local and regional triathlon championships. This summer, she posted a great performance at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England; we know you're as proud as we are.
But it hasn't been easy. We've had lockdowns where she trained alone for months; we've had pressures to finance all her equipment and other needs - bikes, three coaches, sports psychology, travel, etc; she's had to postpone any semblance of a social life in order to balance school and sport.
Now, she's on the verge of breaking out into a wider environment but needs to round out the year on a solid footing.
We're hoping that having witnessed and been thrilled by her journey since the earlies, you'll feel motivated enough to help her get through the door and send her on her way to these last races.
Anything will help and will be gratefully acknowledged.
Thanks so much.
Kaya, Kiyomi and Alistair.
