Kaya’s Road To Recovery
Donation protected
On Wednesday, March 8th, 2022 around 4pm, our dear pup was attacked. A mountain lion hopped the fence into our yard and viciously attacked our first girl, Kaya.
Here is a picture of the mountain lion roaming our street. The picture was captured on one of our neighbors cameras 2 nights before it attacked Kaya.
Kaya sustained multiple bite and puncture wounds to her neck, shoulder, belly, but the worst of all is her back left leg. There, she is missing a huge softball size chunk of her leg and muscle.
Thank the lord all of her arteries and nerves were still intact. All we can say is thank you to our other pup who came to her sister’s rescue. If it weren’t for Chloe, our Dutch Shepherd, we are certain our Kaya would be gone as it would have most likely eaten her and took her with it.
As you can imagine, with this type of damage comes constant treatment, doctors visits, and medication which is not cheap.
Now, we are tasked with deciding to keep or remove her leg. This isn’t an easy decision by any means.
Overall, We have a long road to recovery, but we’re confident she will make a full recovery and live a happy life with 4 or 3 legs.
If you would like to donate to Kaya’s medical bills, any amount is greatly appreciated!!
We deeply appreciate your prayers, thoughts and donations in advance!
With much love,
Lowen Family!
