I'm a writer and teacher. I'm also an immigrant. NYC is my home: it's just about the only place I've lived as an adult. My partner, friends, and writing and organizing communities are here. I'm socially rooted here and I'm making plans to stay.
After over 11 years of living in NY and NJ, I have to apply for a new visa. The funds raised here will go directly towards paying for legal fees for the application: $5500 for the law firm, $1000 for the application fees, the rest for the cost of the fundraiser. I'm currently freelancing and need the support of my community to afford these costs.
