Kay's Gender Journey Transition Fund

Dear friends,
Since I was at least 8 years old, I've had experiences which I now understand as transgender. For decades I tried to be the man I'd been told I was, leading to much frustration, self-hatred,anger, and depression. Now I know that these were symptoms of gender dysphoria. In 2016, I was able to come out to myself as a transgender woman. The best treatment for my gender dysphoria is transitioning into my gender identity as a woman.
This fundraiser is intended for the surgeries that will physically alter my anatomical appearance, and which are likely to cost $20-30,000. This is simply not something I can just save up for.
As I have transitioned this far, I'm noticing how much happier I am becoming, something that people around me have commented on. Already I feel the weight of dysphoria lifting in light of the changes I have made to date, and especially now that I have an appointment to consult with a surgeon at the beginning of November.
In the next few months I will be under the knife. The surgery must be pre-paid. Some funding will come in the form of a personal loan from a bank, but I want to borrow as little and raise as much up front as possible. Any contributions post-loan will also be gratefully accepted to help pay off the balance.
I have never felt so internally happy as I feel now, living my authentic gender identity. Surgery will align my body with that identity. Instead of dreaming of wholeness, I will be whole. Thank you for contributing to my fund, and I'm grateful to you for every dollar you can give. I hope you will understand the happiness to which you were able to contribute.
Love and best wishes,
Kay
