This summer, Kay Pacha Initiative is returning to the Bolivian Amazon to complete Phase 3 of the Motacu Research Station build. For the past two years we have been constructing this research station in the Aquicuana Reserve with our partners at Sustainable Bolivia. The goal of the research station is to provide a space for biologists to study the reserve and gain a better understanding of the plants, insects and animals that inhabit it. Through this research Sustainable Bolivia will be able to propose to the Bolivian government an increase in size of the protected reserve within several years.
With a donation of as little as $10 you can contribute to the third phase of the build: supplying the station with the necessary furniture and lab equipment to make the space fully operational. Desks, chairs, microscopes, camera traps, drones, GPS tracking devices and more are needed so that researchers will have everything at their disposal to study the Aquicuana.
Through this research, scientists will gain a better understanding of this important ecosystem and in doing so, will understand how we can better protect it. The research station, in essence, will be a weapon to combat all the current (and future) threats that the Amazon faces.
Thank you for taking the time to watch our film and for donating to Kay Pacha Initiative's Amazon expedition. We are looking forward to completing this project with you!
